Skegness events sought to sign up for East Lindsey Live programme

EVENT organisers in Skegness are being encouraged to sign up to the East Lindsey Live events programme.

East Lindsey Live is a calendar of cultural, heritage and sporting events. The programme is co-ordinated by East Lindsey District Council as a way to package events together to raise the profile of what is happening in the district amongst local people and visitors, in turn benefiting the local economy.

Signing up to East Lindsey Live is free and in doing so event organisers will be able to use the East Lindsey Live logo on all publicity material they produce to show their event is part of the district-wide cultural celebration and important to the local area.

Event organisers will also receive a listing on the East Lindsey Live website, a PR and marketing pack to help them in promoting their own event, promotion via Facebook and Twitter and inclusion in the district council's community magazine, Messenger.

An East Lindsey Live events programme will also be produced in time for Easter for those events signed up by March 1.

Portfolio holder for culture, leisure and tourism, Councillor Adam Grist, said: "Events are an exiting and important way to raise the profile of the area and create new opportunities for local people to develop new skills through volunteering.

"East Lindsey Live provides a platform for events across East Lindsey to be marketed far and wide in support of the economy and cultural offer in our district."

East Lindsey District Council has already announced the dates for two of the festivals it is organising in the East Lindsey Live programme – SO Festival and Wolds Words.

SO Festival takes place across East Lindsey from June 28 to July 7. Wolds Words takes place in and around Louth from October 16 to 20. The programming for both festivals will be available soon.
